“Book at the Border” Program: 671 New Books for Schools in Sisian and Surrounding Villages
The “Nor Nakhichevan” Humanitarian Foundation continues its educational support, striving to enhance the learning process for students in Armenia’s border communities. In 2024, as part of the “Book at the Border” program, the foundation donated books to 13 schools in the Sisian district of Syunik Province.
Program Goal
To enrich the libraries of schools in Armenia’s border villages with new, colorful, and engaging literature, providing children with high-quality educational resources.

Prior to the program’s implementation, during a meeting between Mher Hovhannisyan, the foundation’s director, and the administration of Sisian Primary School No. 2, school representatives requested essential books for their library. Responding to this request, the foundation donated 83 titles from its reserve fund. The other 12 schools each received 49 new books, purchased as part of the 2024 program.
Throughout the project, the foundation collaborated with the Department of Education, Culture, and Sports of the Syunik Regional Administration to ensure proper distribution and effective use of the books.
The “Book at the Border” program has been operating since 2021 and will continue its mission to support education and nurture the next generation.
